Ya Sama! Moments from My Life Reviews
As a lifetime fan, and 3-year blogger, of the "elite" side of Track and Field, I hadn't paid much attention to the ParaOlympic side of the sport.
Tatyana McFadden is one of the most inspiring people. Read Ya Sama! to learn how she has overcome countless obstacles to become a World Champ and Paralympic athlete. Written mainly for middle-schoolers, even people who have graduated awhile ago will benefit from her perspectives and world-class can-do attitude. As she says in this memoir, "Life is not about what you don't have, but what you do with what you are given."
What a role model! If only everyone could make the choice to overcome life and contribute so much. A true American heroine!
Easy read and well written
Excellent book. It teaches valuable lessons in gratitude, optimism, perseverance, and self-advocacy. Tatyana McFadden is simply the finest athlete in the USA for many reasons, only one of which is her athletic ability.
Love this book at Tatyana's unstoppable spirit. It's too much for my children to read themselves (they're 2 and 4), but we are working through a little each night. Such an incredible story of true passion, love, and determination.
Elcellent book. Amazing women who we could all learn from. Few have overcome more obstacles in life and remained as positive. She is an inspiration to many.
What a life! She had some luck but her grit, optimism and Ya Sama attitude makes her such a winner!
