Batman Eternal Vol. 1 (The New 52) Reviews
This is one of the best batman books in the new 52 I have ever read. I haven't been reading comics long but I've read a fair share and this is one of my favorite reads. If you are a fan of batman, you should pick this up. If you are a fan of the new 52, you should pick this up. Time and time again Snyder proves to us that he is someone to look out for. Can't wait to pick up the rest of the series.
Batman Eternal starts off really well; the initial plot over the first third to half of the book is very engaging. After that, it becomes very up and down. The stories that follow what appears to be the 'main' thread remain good, but mixed in are uninteresting side stories that don't appear to be relevant to the main story. Of course, this could all be resolved as future volumes are released, but I left the first volume wishing it was a little shorter with fewer distractions.
This bat tale has it all. Pitch perfect pacing, a crazy roller coaster of emotion that ramps up from 0-1000 and never lets up. Twists, and turns galore! Scott Snyder is one of the best Batman writers of modern times, and with the all-star cast of guest writers and artists this series will go down as one of my all time favorite stories across every genre I read!
Well written with great art except one chapter with medium quality artwork. Overall it is an excellent book.
This book definitely deserves 5 stars but i did have an issue. I am a big into comics and heroes so obviously i like my books to stay in good shape.
Batman Eternal is an ambitious project to celebrate Batman's 75th anniversary. This volume collects the first half a year long epic that has many of DC's top talent. The writing is managed by Scott Synder and James Tynion, who plan out the entire story, while the actual story beats are handled by other writers like Tim Seely, John Layman, Ray Fawkes, and later Kyle Higgins. The art is handled by an even more massive list with the various issues being drawn by Jason Fabok, Dustin Nguyen, Andy Clarke, and others.
to celibate 75 years of the dark knight we are giving a big mystery and a tone of call backs
This is, and the cover states, a wild ride. A must read for all Batman fans, and fans of comics in general.
