Paper: Handmade Style Reviews
i love paper and enjoy exploring all its uses, its creative potential, its almost miraculous nature (get the idea?). in any case, this book may not be THE best book i have seen on the topic on paper, but it does rank among the top. It presents a variety of ideas and good instructions forming the basis for further explorations in paper. it gives enough to inspire the pursuing of further explorations. It has instructions for making paper and then for what to do with the paper made-mostly books, albums, journals, etc. good work..[ also try this book, among many others- ASIN:1906155585 Paper: Tear, Fold, Rip, Crease, Cut]]
Thankyou very much for the recent edition of Handmade Style which arrived in excellent condition and I haven,t stopped looking at it. It is such an informative book, not only teaching you how to make the paper but also has great ideas for binding and decorating books. I live in Australia and this book is Australian but I was unable to locate it here and could only get a copy from Amazon.
I never thought paparmaking could be so easy!
I always like to create with paper in more than the conventional 2-D format. This simple book inspires, encourages, and reminds you that the best things are made by hand.
I was not impressed with this publication. It has some good ideas.
The are some really gorgeous examples of paper here. The book starts by giving detailed directions on how to handmake paper using a mold and deckle. If you don't already have a set, you can make a simple one from photo frames and nylon mesh. The other tools are easily obtainable. The book discusses making recycled paper from paper pulp and variations using plant fiber, as well as adding decorative elements using things like scraps of paper or confetti, color, the embedding and embossing techniques.
use book but a great way to get a book that was difficult to get before. The projects spark many an idea.
Beautiful book. Very helpful
