RSMeans Contractor's Pricing Guide: Residential Repair & Remodeling 2012 (Means Residential Repair & Remodeling Costs) (Means Contractor's Pricing Guide: Residential & Remodeling Costs) Reviews
The standard for pricing jobs. It allows me to get an idea of labor, material, and demo costs and pricing for work I need to bid on as well as work that I don't do on a daily basis. The only thing I wish it had was an easier way to find categories. I find myself just thumbing through the top page headers until I find what I'm looking for, if they could bracket, divide or mark the sides or top of the pages like auto repair or parts manuals it would speed up looking for different categories and job types.
A useful reference for putting together an estimate in your own spreadsheet. But, it seems to reflect materials and construction techniques from decades ago rather than today's materials and client desires.
We're looking to buy and renovate an old house. After we tour each one, I put together a projected budget to decide if the total cost is in our price range. That's what I bought this book for: to be able to apply accurate pricing to anticipated work. Well, it helps some.
The book was easy to find things and to understand. Just a bit too pricey for being 6 years old!
I was expecting a better way to learn and price projects I'm doing for the first time as a contractor.Still looking for a better book.
I have been in the business for 28 years and these pricing books never seem to deal with reality. This book makes no sense to me and if i used it to price i would never get one contract
The product is good for estimating data of every phase of construction.
It is fine and in very good condition.
